COMMON ARIZONA PESTS

Brown Dog Tick

This tick gets its common name from its overall reddish brown color and that it is common on dogs. Both sexes are reddish brown in color but females turn a bluish-gray color when engorged with blood. They can be introduced to urban dwellings by pets.

Bite can cause tick paralysis in dogs, and (very rarely) in humans.
